Adam Equipment, a global manufacturer of scales and balances, has completed construction on a new building in Oxford, Conn., and has relocated its U.S. office from nearby Danbury to the recently constructed 23,500-square-foot facility.

Nestled in the heart of the Naugatuck Valley, the structure is much larger and allows the company to better meet its logistical needs, according to Tom Storey, president of Adam Equipment.

"The move to Oxford and into a bigger building allowed us to increase our warehouse area and expand our operations, including customer service, sales and marketing," Storey said. "The property is close to I-84, which helps streamline our shipping and receiving process, and also allows Adam to continue offering superior customer service," he added.

In May, Adam purchased the 5.7-acre plot of land at the corner of Fox Hollow and Jacks Hill roads from Earthworks Excavating & Landscaping Inc., owner and developer of the industrial park. Borghesi Building and Engineering Company of Torrington designed and built the structure to house Adam's office and warehouse, and accommodate light assembly tasks.

Adam established its U.S. headquarters in New Milford in 1998, before moving in 2002 to Commerce Drive in Danbury. Continued growth, increased sales and additional hiring spurred the company to renovate and expand that facility in 2007, tripling the size of Adam's building space to 11,000 square feet.

Now, with 21 employees based in its office and other locations throughout the United States, the Adam team is settled into its new quarters in time for the start of 2016. The new address is:
