An inline checkweigher is an automated weighing machine that checks the weights of products as they move along a production line.
Inline checkweighers typically use a conveyor system as well as precision weighing technology to weigh each individual product. This is done without stopping the production process: the system compares the weight of each product to a pre-set target – and if the item is too light or too heavy, will reject the product.
An inline checkweigher provides fast, accurate and consistent weight inspection without interrupting the production process. By checking every product, a checkweighing system can help identify underweight and overweight products, reduce product giveaway, minimise waste and improve overall quality control. Dynamic checkweighers are suitable for a wide range of industries and can be integrated directly into existing production lines.
Additionally, when paired with an inline metal detector or X-ray system, additional checks on products can be made prior to them being despatched to customers.
